On last Wednesday Clinic members presented at the CSL faculty best scholarship practices workshop to highlight their efforts and to demonstrate the importance of clinical based scholarship. We are all familiar in the legal academy with the traditional notion of scholarship where teaching often times takes a backseat to research. Clinic scholarship on the other hand immerses the students and faculty in a cooperative problem solving effort to advance the interests of clients and causes. By embracing this scholarship model the Clinic and other CSL faculty members are advancing Charlotte School of Law’s three mission pillars: practical preparation, student focused education, and service to the community.
