Clinic Member Ashely Washington Part of First CSL Team to Participate in Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International Mock Trial Competition

The Charlotte School of Law Alexander Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta sent its first-ever mock trial team to compete in Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International’s National Competition for P.A.D Law School Chapters in Arlington, Virginia March 8-10, 2012.

The Phi Alpha Delta Mock Trial Competition convenes annually to give PAD Law School Chapters the opportunity to showcase their knowledge of trial procedures in competition with fellow PAD members nationwide.  This year, thirty-two teams from across the nation gathered together to compete.

The students who competed were Casey Calloway (2L), Preston Hilton (2L), Corey Stokes (2L), and Ashely Washington (2L).

Phi Alpha Delta’s team advanced to the second day of competition, beating teams from American University Washington College of Law, DePaul University, and the University of Minnesota.  Overall, Phi Alpha Delta’s team finished 11 out of the 32 teams that competed.

Phi Alpha Delta is very proud of its mock trial team and their accomplishments! They would like to express sincere gratitude to all who helped them achieve this success. Special thanks go to the Alexander Chapter, the Charlotte School of Law SBA, Professor Robert Corbett, and Chapter Chief Justice, Kristie Scott.
